The Karam Winery is South Lebanon’s only wine producer, making 55,000 bottles a year. This pioneering producer, owned by commercial airline pilot Habib Karam (no relation to the author) and his brother Ousama, is gaining in popularity and its wines are reaching a wider audience, served as they are on Middle East Airlines and the smarter Beirut hotels and restaurants, while in 2006, he was featured in Decanter magazine. No day trip to the south would be complete without a visit.

Tasted the 2010 the other night. Cracking acidity and lovely structure. Guava in the mouth. This could be its best year ever. Will post a proper 'page for the 2010 later but this couldn't wait. . Rate: 90 [+]
