Château Belle-Vue, a husband and wife owned micro-winery, may currently only produce a modest 18,000 bottles (most were sold online via Belle-Vue’s wine club and they can now also be found in a few Beirut restaurants) but the wines are gaining a reputation for punching above their weight. The winery recently opened a tasting room and Jill Boutros is always happy to spread the Belle-Vue gospel. If you are around at harvest time and fancy lending a hand, the pickings are something of an annual event in the area and make for a great family day out. But beware; it’s hard work.
